I Am Only a Puzzle Piece but I Help Finish the Picture

So many people I know, and even myself for a time, wanted to be the hero. They want to be the person that saves the day, gets the guy or girl, rides off into the sunset and lives happily ever after and famous for all eternity. After seeing so many “famous” fall and get kicked while they are down I am beginning to think that I would rather be a simple puzzle piece. Don’t get me wrong I am not afraid or selfish but rather I just want to hold the spot that I was born to hold. God definitely doesn’t like lazy. He wants you to give your all. He wants you to love everyone you meet as you love yourself every single day. Thats a pretty tall order in and of itself. He wants you to believe in him and love him and hold him higher than everything else, which is not always what we want to do. That’s why he sent his son, to establish the Church, a community that will give us strength in our times of need. He gave us sacraments of Baptism, Communion, Reconciliation, Confirmation to give us faith and to keep it strong for God knows how weary our travels in life can be. I have no desire to be nothing more that what God wants of me. I am happy loving with all my might. I am happy to just flick that light switch on to help others see. I am happy to just open the door so others might see an opportunity. I am happy to teach my children to love everyone, help everyone and forgive anyone that hurts them. I am happy to show my children that I am a sinner and that I happily ask for forgiveness when I have done something wrong so they know to do the same. I do not preach to condemn sinners, but rather I speak with love and try to share with others that there is love from God for all. I never try and act as if I have all the answers but I know where they can be found, even if they are answers I did not want to hear. God can do so much with so little. He can accomplish much with one person, so I surrender. For it is thy will be done not my will be done. God patiently waits for us all and to show us how wonderfully we fit into this world. I encourage all to take the time to find your part for it is a most beautiful gift to receive.

Luke 2:22-35

22And when the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23(as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord") 24and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons." 25Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, 28he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29"Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; 30for mine eyes have seen thy salvation 31which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to thy people Israel." 33And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him; 34and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against 35(and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."
